These Alpha-Cellulose Double Mats feature an acid-free, lignin-free core to instantly elevate any piece. The primary color (top mat) has a setback opening to reveal the secondary color (bottom mat) and the standard color “reveal” of the bottom mat is 1⁄4” on all sides. To ensure ultimate conservation, no recycled materials are used in our Conservation Double Mats. 

Conservation Double Mat Details: 

• Our acid-free mat boards are sourced from Crescent’s industry-leading selection, ensuring consistency and precision from color to thickness.
• Standard mats are available in 4-ply unless otherwise noted. 
• Conservation quality matboard is acid-free and lignin-free throughout the surface, with a white core and backing, unless otherwise noted.
• Mats are bevel cut at the opening unless otherwise specified.
• All Conservation Double Mats meet the conservation standards set by the Fine Art Trade Guild.
• Mats are buffered with calcium carbonate to an alkaline reserve of 3-5% pH 8.5-9.5.
